Poem II by Ambika Vishwanath
She lies here next to me, her uneven breathing
Matches mine.
My hand reaches for hers, and
Our trembling subsides as we cling to each other.
Words flood my mind,
So much to say to her,
But my blood is rushing,
Running, everywhere, and I am not
Coherent.
We lie on our sides staring,
Our violent eyes connecting,
The trembling of her lips mirror mine,
And knowing that she feels the same as I do,
Gives me pleasure, and yet
Intense pain.
Our legs, hands, bodies,
Minds
Are intertwined,
And as we hold each other,
Our souls are charged, gaining strength from the other.
Our bodies hot,
The air thick and heavy
And I just want to close my eyes
And let go...
...to my little pixee
